What we made in 2025: A Blokoto rewind of the last year

During some time around 3 years ago, I begun to develop Blokoto within the goal to let it be a sandbox much more closer to the players, intending to get the great potential already pointed out by another sandbox communities. Nowadays, the project achieves one more year of development, along many awesome features that have been implemented during the year of 2025.

If you want to know about the previous years of the game, check out our rewinds from 2023 and 2024. This year was by far the year which Blokoto evolved the most both as a project and a game.
Right in the beginning of the year, we added SpawnPoints to the game, allowing to set where the players start the map, an essential feature for maps by the way.

Along them, there are also the block behaviors to interact with the player, initially composed only by fire and toxic blocks. This certainly made parkour maps much more challenging and interesting than before.

A little later, the multiplayer came, the true game's heart. And now, with many players testing at the same time, the game gained much more fun, but it still had a lack of personality.


To make the game less boring and more creative, we added the avatars creation system, which brings endless possibilities of customization and self expression to the players. The avatar shop also came along it.


And for improving the parkour even more, the behaviors related to bouncy, grip, parkour and instakill were added for blocks.

Also followed to these parkour features, we've added the checkpoints for game, intended to make the deaths less frustrating.
It was still missing some spice in the game, so we focused on adding the gun and PvP system to turn players interaction into something way more frenetic. This was the most ambitious update of the year, and also the one which had the best result when talking about the game fun.

During the year, we also had the addition of many other cool features, like the texts, portals, lights and world environment customization.


Finally, we reached the end of the year, then we made the release of banners and avatar decorations, along our Christmas Challenge and the game launcher update.

The Blokoto's future
Now during the alpha, we are improving and releasing features that will make the game much more fun. Out main goal focuses on adding many more resources to add a purpose for Blokoto, and also afford to bring a better experience for everyone, upgrading the current building system, but mostly having a focus on gameplay features.
