Blokoto's social features

One of our most important goals is to keep you engaged — together with your friends! Everything is more fun when shared: playing, building, even getting angry! That's why we're putting a stronger focus on social features, making it easier than ever to connect, collaborate, and share experiences.
We want Blokoto to be more than just a platform: we want it to feel like a living community, where creativity thrives through collaboration. Slowly, through the Workshop, we’ll be building tools that make it easier for users to help each other, even if that's happening passively. And that’s not all: any reward given to a project’s creator will also be shared with its members! There's no reason to be building alone. All things are better together!
With that in mind — here's some features and what's on our mind.
Profile customization

We want to give you as many ways as possible to express yourself. Two confirmed features that'll bring your profile to life — and make it truly yours — are banners and frames! At the time of this post, none of them are available for purchase yet. After all, they’re special: everyone can buy them, but not everyone can sell them. We don’t want the Workshop to be flooded with banners that no one will actually use — so selling them will be a bit more challenging. Initially, we plan to charge a small fee for creators who want to list their banners on the Workshop, but that might change. As for frames, we haven’t decided exactly how they’ll work yet. One thing’s for sure: they’re just as special as banners.

More will definetly come! Either you want to "farm aura" or show how cute you are, we'll give you enough tools to make your place, truly yours.
Feed

We all love spending hours scrolling through social media — it’s fun! Luckily for you, our goal is to bring that same feeling to Blokoto. We want to give players the opportunity to share their best moments, show off their achievements, promote their creations, and chat with others! The Feed is a place to meet new people, explore different areas of the game, hear new opinions, and even spread the word about upcoming events!

You can currently post in-game screenshots too.

Our inspiration
Have you ever played Garry's Mod? That's a classic sandbox game using Valve's Source Engine, you may have heard about it being used in some weird toilet-head videos.

We certainly did — and we love it! That's one of Inknight's inspiration for Blokoto’s building mode. Player interaction is one of the biggest things that makes it so much fun. Having a wide range of tools to test and play around with can easily make you lose hours doing random stuff — and that’s exactly the kind of interactivity we’re aiming for! Implementing online building mode isn’t as simple as it looks, but Inknight is working hard to make it happen soon. One of the planned features is the ability to interact with other players using the 3D cursor — for example, grabbing them and tossing them around!
Safety
Safety is definitely one of our top priorities! Creating a secure environment for players of all ages is extremely important — we ask that everyone read Blokoto’s Terms of Use carefully and follow all the rules. Our moderation team never sleeps and always keeps a close eye on things. Recently, we’ve also been experimenting with the idea of an automod system. We ran some pretty funny tests — and they were surprisingly successful! Our little bot — we called it Snik — read through some made-up conversation and analysed context to decide whether the message was toxic or not. Besides being incredibly polite, it even smelled nice! Unfortunately, being a robot, it still struggles a bit with understanding human emotions, like irony, and it doesn't enjoy jokes very much — and, well, that’s a problem. We love jokes.
We’ll keep testing and teaching our little friend Snik some empathy. Soon enough, they'll become a truly valuable part of our team!
