Portals

Remember the times when you had to walk a thousand miles around the whole map only to reach a certain location? You don’t need to worry about it anymore, the scientists working on the Blokoto’s Secret Physics Lab #18 have finally found your definitive life saver, the Portals! Featuring a round & physics-defying hole where you can get in, and suddenly, in a matter of seconds, you’ve traveled something you would’ve had to walk for many and many hours in a row! Liability disclaimer: If you ever suffer any long-term damages to your system in direct response to the use of Portals, we do not hold any responsibility for it :D

Modelling got a huge revamp

Interdimensional travel aside, we’re also pretty happy to share that, in this new update, we’ve improved the loading screen, making it way more optimized than before, and the new modeling system has also been improved. It is now way more responsive to user actions, and generally more reliable! You will not see any visual changes to it, but you will feel the difference.

Advertisements

You might’ve covered yourself in shivers by reading this subtitle by the simple thought of more ads on the website, but fear not, it is actually the opposite. If you scrolled through the pages without an adblocker (thank you for the consideration by the way), you might have noticed that every now and then you would come across a few ads on the side of pages.

These ads were used to help us manage the expenses that come from hosting Blokoto, but after careful consideration & analysis, we have decided that removing entirely the ads from the website is the best way to go. Due to the faulty system present on Google’s Ad Services, we have received a lot of reports about inappropriate advertisements slipping through the cracks and showing up on Blokoto.

We acknowledge that these ads are really unpleasant to look at, specially when we try our best to make the platform as family-friendly as possible, and amidst such a heated moment in the topic of child-safety online, the only real way to move forward is to disable these ads from Google, to not expose anyone who may be underage to inappropriate topics & also to improve user experience! TL;DR - No more ads for the time being!
